Thanks to everyone for a great race! Awards will be available for pickup beginning August 28th at Runner's Corner in Orem (801) 223-7010.

For those who registered but did not run, T-Shirts are for FINISHERS ONLY and say 'Finisher' on the back. If you ran and would like to buy an additonal t-shirt (M, L, XL), they will be available for $10 at Runner's Corner.

We would love to hear your feedback, especially comments regarding the new route and new finish. Also, if you have any suggestions that would make the race a better experience, please let us know.

For the first time in the 12 year history of the race we will have a new course!  Mapleton City is hosting our

2006 event and Mapleton City Park should be an excellent venue.  The course is faster and better than ever!

 

Registration:  Registration ($25) will be accepted until July 31st regardless.  If the race is not full by July 31st, registrations will be accepted ($30) until the cap of 1,000 runners is reached.  Registrations will be accepted in person at Runner’s Corner on 800 South State Street in Orem – 223-7010, or you may download an entry form here and mail it to Hobble Creek ½, PO Box 971531 , Orem , Utah 84097 .   Register online at active.com.

 

Packet Pickup:  Friday, August 25th from 12-6 pm at Runner’s Corner in Orem ( 800 South State Street ) or the morning of the race at Mapleton City Park ( 35 East Maple Street , Mapleton).

 

 

Race Day Info

Driving Directions to Mapleton City Park (Packet Pickup/Busses/Finish Line):  From I-15, take the 2nd Springville Exit (Exit 260) East; Drive East on 400 South about 3.5 miles and take a RIGHT on Canyon Drive; Follow Canyon Drive 1/2 mile and turn right on 1700 East Springville which becomes Mapleton Main Street .  Follow Main Street 1½ miles to Mapleton City Park

Bib Numbers:  Please check that the information on your bib # is correct and that you are in the correct age division.  If a correction is needed, please report to the computer table prior to the race.  Bib #’s should be worn on the front! Do not even think of going through the finish without your number on front!   

 

Bus Transportation:  Busses will be available to take participants to the starting line from 6-6:30 am .  You will need your race number to gain admittance onto the bus.  Meet at Mapleton City Park (Map below) to ride the bus.  There will be NO busses provided after the race.  If you do not make the busses you will be expected to provide your own transportation.  EVERYONE CAN NOT FIT ON TO THE LAST BUS! Please be early!!!

 

Course Description:  The course starts just below Balsam Campground which is approximately 6 ½ miles up the right fork of Hobble Creek Canyon .  The course winds down the scenic rolling terrain by the creek to the golf course that is just past the 7 mile mark.  At 8 miles the course turns onto the river trail and proceeds down the canyon to the mouth of Hobble Creek Canyon where you take a left on 2000 East, proceed to 1600 North and take a right and continue until you get to 740 East and take a right into the neighborhood.  This is where the final water stop is!  You will run through the neighborhood to 1700 East.  Up until this point the course has remained unchanged.  In previous years this is where you took a right turn.  Instead of turning right on to 1700 East, you will TAKE A LEFT!  1700 East becomes Mapleton Main Street .  Just run down Main Street until you get to Mapleton City Park !

 

Water Stops:  Water Stations will be near mile marks 3, 6½, 8, 10, and 11½.  GU20 electrolyte drink will be served at all stations but mile 3.  Gu energy gels at 6½ and 8. 

Awards:  Flowers to all women finishers compliments of Steiners Flowers of Springville  -  Top 100 receive an Elite 100 Medallion (Men) and Elite 100 Necklace (Women)  -  Top 3 Overall and top Masters overall awarded Prize Money/Gift Certificates  -  Custom Awards to TOP 3 in each age division  -  There will also be a random drawing with many prizes from local businesses
